Through a partnership with Xylon, an electronics company focused on FPGA IP cores and application solutions, Visage Technologies’ face detection and tracking has become available on the Xilinx® Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC architecture, with the first working demo to be presented at embedded world 2014.
Xilinx Zynq-7000 AP SoC combines dual-core ARM® Cortex™-A9 processors and programmable logic on a single device and enables for single-SoC implementations of multiple real-time algorithms running in a parallel.
Xylon and Visage Technologies AB have entered a technology partnership with the goal of jointly delivering Visage Technologies’s state-of-the-art face detection and tracking technology through the Xylon logicBRICKS™ IP Library. Xylon’s role is to optimize the technology for use on the Xilinx Zynq-7000 AP SoC, provide means for easy and flexible technology integration with other computer vision applications running on the same SoC and to develop hardware accelerators that will off-load the processing system and increase the overall processing performance.
The first working demo that implements only a basic set of hardware acceleration functions shall be presented at embedded world 2014 (25-27 February, Nuremburg, Germany) fair.
